A device for closing and opening, or attaching and removing a part of a garment and uses a pair of interlocking teeth and a “slider.” The teeth of the zipper can be made of various kinds of metal or plastic and come in a wide range of colors, finishes and sizes. The “slider” and the “pull” can be functional or decorative.
Zipper Teeth can be cast into shape, molded, or in coil form.
Zippers can have a stop at one or both ends to prevent the slider from disengaging.
Separating Zippers are used on jacket or coat fronts and on removable hoods and linings.
2-Way Zippers have two sliders that allow the zipper to be open fully or partially open from either end.
Invisible Zippers are used in seams where the appearance of a zipper opening is unacceptable. The garment fabric creates a covering fold over the zipper teeth and there is no visible topstitching from the outside. They are less durable than regular zippers. |
